Sylvain Fostin, president of the “Guadeloupe Taekwondo Association” MNA official WT, has assumed the role of Kombat Taekwondo representative in Guadeloupe, after being officially appointed by Rick Shin, president of the American company.

When asked about his interest in Kombat Taekwondo, Fostin explained that the introduction of electronic systems in World Taekwondo (WT) competitions drastically changed the style of sparring, moving away from the martial approach he loves. Faced with this situation, he sought a strategy to retain members interested in competing.

Regarding the Kombat Taekwondo event in Bogota, the former competitor, now a leader, affirmed that the images confirmed its success. He emphasized that the combat techniques brought the ancient martial art back to life, highlighting the presence of powerful leg techniques and allowing variety with punches to the face and other rules, all within a cage that offers a prestigious experience for the public.

Being appointed president of Kombat Taekwondo, Sylvain Fostin, who won several medals in international competitions from 2000 to 2013, considers it a great honor to represent this new style in Guadeloupe and anticipates its success.

He is confident that, given Taekwondo’s popular and respected past, Kombat Taekwondo has a bright future, especially when approached professionally.

As for Rick Shin’s work, he praised his ability to listen and find solutions, considering him the ideal person to lay the groundwork and secure the future of this new modality.

On the objectives with Kombat Taekwondo, Fostin noted that they are taking things step by step, from communicating about the new style of competition to familiarizing practitioners and introducing the public to this “New Generation Taekwondo.” With sponsors on board, they are already gearing up for the first event scheduled for October.
