In an unprecedented sporting display, the Dominican Republic has been the epicenter of athletic excellence by successfully hosting three internationally renowned events: the Paris 2024 Olympic Qualifier, the Paralympic Qualifier and the prestigious Dominican Open.

In the Olympic Games Qualifier, nine countries secured their participation in the world’s greatest sporting event. Brazil, Dominican Republic, Canada, Uruguay, Chile, United States, Venezuela, Argentina and Cuba celebrated their Olympic spots in an atmosphere of fierce competition and sporting camaraderie.

Meanwhile, in the Paralympic Games Qualifiers, six nations secured their presence at the Paralympic events in Paris 2024. Argentina, Dominican Republic, Cuba, Brazil, Venezuela and Chile stood out for their skill and dedication, securing their place in a show of inclusion and self-improvement.

The Dominican Open, a high-caliber taekwondo tournament, also took place with great success, attracting competitors from around the world and providing a perfect stage for the showcase of talent and skill in the sport.

Juan Manuel Lopez, President of the Pan American Taekwondo Union (PATU), expressed his deep gratitude to all the participants, the Dominican Republic organizing committee and the World Taekwondo Federation authorities for their support and collaboration in the realization of these transcendental events. He highlighted the commitment of all those involved in making these events a resounding success and emphasized the importance of international cooperation in the development and promotion of the sport in the region.
