Three days that help to leave behind a year to forget, in which the pandemic has forced taekwondo to remain in standby. Three days that becomes a new beginning.
The scenario for this activity was the Olympic Preparation Center in Formia, with the occasion of the seminar for coaches and instructors.
The event had as special guests to the technical director of the national team, Claudio Nolano, and the three athletes who will be competing in the Tokyo Olympics (Dell’Aquila and Alessio) and Paralympics (Bossolo).
Of course, President Angelo Cito was there to preside over the seminar. “This had been a large participation which makes us smile again. I wanted this course to be held in the presence of the participants as there are only a few days away from the next Olympics. Being able to live this atmosphere together and having the opportunity to encourage the boys and the technical staff all together, creates even more strength in a cohesive group that represents Italy”.
Looking ahead, without forgetting the recent past: “This emergency has taught us a lot and we must treasure it to create new opportunities”.
What are your expectations for Tokyo?
“We are back to the Olympics after the passage of Rio, and we are looking forward to participate in this edition with great optimism and a male team of great value. In addition, for the first time in history a Paralympic athlete, Antonino Bossolo, will represent our discipline at the Paralympics and we are proud of this.
To be part of the Paralympic program is extraordinary. A message that goes beyond sport, towards the integration of disabilities within our society”. Concluded the president of FITA.
