Ottawa, ON – Taekwondo Canada is pleased to announce that the 2024 Canada Open is the most successful international event ever run by the organization. The event, held February 8th to 10th, featured over 800 athletes from 41 countries attending the event held over three days in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Highlights of the weekend saw over 250 poomsae athletes who competed for gold medals while over 600 kyorugi athletes battling for supremacy in Cadet, Junior, and Senior categories over the three day event. This event, held at the Vancouver Convention Centre, also featured over 1,000 fans each of the three days who took in the tournament while also utilizing UpTKD for its live streaming.

“The 2024 Canada Open was a tremendous success for Taekwondo Canada. The support we received from the 800 plus athletes from over 41 countries was second to none.” Said Taekwondo Canada Executive Director Dave Harris. “We also want to thank and recognize the tremendous partnerships we formed with the Government of Canada, City of Vancouver, Province of British Columbia as well as our many corporate partners ensured that the G2 event will have been one of the top taekwondo stops on the Pan American tour this year.”
