The Spanish company Daedo started 2024 by welcoming Joël van der Weide, an outstanding Dutch taekwondist specialized in Poomsae, who joins Team Daedo. With his arrival, the team now has a total of 24 sponsored athletes, consolidating its commitment to strengthen and support martial arts athletes on their way to success.

Joël began his taekwondo career at the early age of six, and by the age of nine he was already participating in international competitions. His dedication and commitment to the discipline led him to forge an outstanding 18-year career, reaching second place in the World Taekwondo world rankings at the age of 24.

In addition to his successful sporting career, Joël has been outstanding in the academic field, specializing in a Professional Education and Training (Mbo) program in Sport and Exercise, and continuing his studies in Higher Professional Education (Hbo) with the Sports Science program. Thanks to his strong academic background and extensive experience in taekwondo, he now offers seminars and online classes under his own name.

Last December 18, 2023, Joël had the opportunity to visit Barcelona to participate in a photo shoot with other taekwondo masters, including master Jeong Cheol Kim and Laura Kim. This photo shoot, besides having Joël as a model representing his discipline, also marked a special milestone.

During the session, Mr. Park, CEO of Daedo, personally introduced himself to welcome the future member of #teamdaedo.

“This significant meeting reinforces the beginning of an important collaboration, with Joël being the first taekwondist specialized in Poomsae to join our team,” explained Mr. Park.

“Joël’s inclusion in our team represents a step forward in our mission to support and highlight exceptional athletes in the martial arts, especially in judo, karate and taekwondo. We look forward to witnessing the achievements and positive impact that his experience and dedication will bring to #teamdaedo,” concluded Daedo’s CEO.
