Pan Am Open Poomsae Championships (Online)

After two test events the World Taekwondo Pan America -WTPA- is ready to host the first Pan Am Open Poomsae Championships online, at all divisions including Para-Taekwondo (P20 & P30); event that will take place on September 19-20.

Once again MasTKD partners up with WTPA and WCompetition to organize a unique event; besides al the technological improvements added for this Championship, the open will give Wild Cards to the top eight of every division, to compete at the 2020 Pan Am Official Poomsae Championships, to be held in october.


The Open will be carried out in 3 courts on September 19-20, schedule as follows:

Saturday September 19 – 11:00 am EDT

  • Cadet -Male ring 1- Female ring 2-
  • Youth 8-9 years -Male ring 3 – Female ring 3-
  • Under 30 years -Male ring 1 – Female ring 2-
  • Under 50, Under 60, Under 65 and Over 65 -Male ring 3 – Female ring 3-

Sunday September 20 – 11:00 am EDT

  • Junior – Male ring 1- Female ring 2-
  • Youth 10-11 years -Male ring 3- Female ring 3-
  • Under 40 -Male ring 1- Female ring 2-
  • Para, Pairs, Teams -Ring 3-


The registration process will be done through World Taekwondo System GMS.


Athletes will need to have their passports or national birth certificate with them at the moment of the competitions, because in order to verify the identity of competitors, they will have to show it prior the start of every division.


The registration fee will be USD 100 per division. If an athlete wishes to compete in one more division, it will have cost of USD 75. Which are not refundable under any situation.

Wild Cards

Top eight athletes of every division will get a Wil Card for the “2020 Pan Am Official Poomsae Championships -Online Event-“ to be held in October.

Every country can get one Wild Card per division only.

If there is a tie among the same country for the wild card in the same division, the competitor with higher presentation will win the wild card. If there is still a tie, all scores (accuracy and presentation) from all 5 referees will be totaled and the competitor with the higher total points will win.

Competition Format

Under 30, Under 40, and Para divisions will compete with single elimination format with 2 poomsaes for every round.

All other divisions will compete with cut-off system. With one poomsae for preliminary and semifinal rounds, and 2 poomsaes for final round. Find complete details of the competition here:
